Social Sunday: Embarrassing Edition.

It's that time again....
Sunday Social

1. What was your first car? My first car was a 1990 Ford Probe.  It was red with red (burgundy) interior and it was pretty awesome.  It even had a CD player - talk about advanced!  This picture isn't my car but it's literally my car's twin.  I *think* I had different wheels.  Also, my dad had a sunroof (manual) put in for my birthday one year.  Like I said, it was awesome.

2. Who was your favorite childhood teacher? My favorite elementary school teacher was definitely my third grade teacher.  I was super shy when I was little and he really helped build my confidence and bring me out of my shell!  He was super fun and you could tell he loved teaching!  He still teaches in the same district and I was able to work in the same building as him a few years ago when I was substitute teaching!  Here's a picture of me in third grade.  Please enjoy my puffy headband and stylish sweater (which is layered over a turtleneck)!

3. Were you involved in any sports/extracurricular activities? Share pictures if you can! Unfortunately I wasn't into a lot of extra activities.  My mom was a single mom and didn't have a ton of money for us to do sports and other "extras" like that.  I did play youth boosters basketball in elementary school and I was also on the drill team.  Oh, and let's not forget the cool activities: strings and band!  None of these were in high school, though.  In high school I kept pretty busy with my job because I started working at 15!  Here's a picture from when I ran track in middle school.  I'm on the left.  Pretty awesome, right?

4. What was your favorite birthday party? When I turned 15 my Dad rented a limousine for me and my friends.  It first came to pick me up at his house (and my little sis so she could ride in it) and we went to each one of my friend's houses to pick them up in style.  I think we might have gone out to dinner, but maybe we just drove around.  It's hard to remember!  What I DO remember is that one of my friends got me the new Eminem CD and I forgot it in the limo CD player....gone forever.  What a sad day.
Another favorite party was when I turned 13.  One of my best friends had a birthday about a month before mine so our moms got together and planned a joint hotel party.  SO COOL, right?  We had adjoining rooms so the TEENAGERS got a room to ourselves and the moms were right next door.  It was cool because we felt super mature and we got to go swimming and eat junk food.

Here's a keeper from my 15th birthday party.  Chillin' in the limo with the boyfriend!  You can tell I spent a lot of time (and hairspray) on my bangs that day.

This was my 13th birthday hotel party.  Please notice the girl on the right with the denim hat and overalls.  Oh, 90's fashion.

5. Who was your teen celebrity crush? Hmmm, I definitely loved N*Sync and 98 Degrees for a while there.  I even met 98 Degrees!  After I got over my boy band phase, I really liked Blink 182 (also a boy band I guess, haha)!  I'm now realizing I wrote "frosted tips" over Justin and in reality, he just bleached his hair Eminem style.  Oh well, it's all the same!

6. What show/movie did your parents not allow you to watch? Ha!  My mom was SO strict.  She didn't even want me to watch The Simpsons!  Both of my parents hated MTV.  My mom "deleted" it from our channel line-up so when you flipped through the channels it would skip MTV.  I was smart, though, and knew I just had to type in the channel # to get to my beloved MTV and watch music videos (what happened to those anyway?!).  My dad blocked MTV on his cable and the password was "1234".  I kid you not.  I cracked that code in about 5 minutes.

I hope you all enjoyed my embarrassing past!
