Snowed "In" {An Inside Toddler Activity}

It's been cold here in Ohio.  Not just cold, really cold.  Unbearably cold.  To avoid going stir crazy, I've been trying to think creatively and plan some fun activities for Carson.  I was dying to take him to play in the snow but I just felt too guilty taking him out in the freezing temps.  So instead, we brought the outside in!  I used the bin we use for sensory play and filled it up with snow.  I gathered some of his summer beach toys and let him dig in.  He was a little hesitant at first, but really enjoyed it!  I just put a towel down in our kitchen and since snow melts into water, I wasn't concerned about a mess!

Here are some pictures of our snow day in:

Apparently these turtles make good hats!

He was pretty upset when he spilled some of the snow!

After tasting the snow. :)

I think he was confused, he kept trying to put his boots on! :)

What do you do to beat the winter blues?
Share your fun indoor activities!

  1. Haha cute! Maybe he wanted to put his boots on to get in the bucket! What a great idea!
